July’s Buck Moon is a potent reminder of how astrology can illuminate and guide us. Named after the emerging antlers of deer bucks at this time of year, it has much to teach us about personal growth and transformation. It is arguably the most powerful Full Moon of 2026 so it’s definitely one to tune into – let’s look at what it might reveal…
In this blog, we’ll unpack:
- The symbolism of the Aquarius Full Moon
- Ways to work with this Full Moon
- Journal prompts for reflection
Illuminating the air sign of Aquarius, this Full Moon takes us into cerebral realms. Aquarius carries a dual current of quirky non-conformity from its modern ruler, Uranus, blended with the stoic determination of its ancient ruler, Saturn. This makes for a detached, pragmatic energy that is unafraid to tread a different path and serve the greater good. When the Moon becomes coloured with this intellectual tone, it’s important to pay attention to how we are communicating on both a mental and emotional level.
The recent Mercury retrograde may have offered us some clues around this – so don’t underestimate what the recent weeks have brought forth. Take note of what feels clearer now or more emotionally honest.

What will this Full Moon in Aquarius bring?
July’s Full Moon is aligned with Pluto, a planet known as the ‘Lord of the Underworld.’ Pluto carries an intense, alchemical energy, encouraging profound transformation. This may bring cathartic endings that create space for new beginnings or inspire a reinvention as we release what has already served its purpose.
When we consider this energy with a detached, cerebral Moon in Aquarius, we get an interesting combination. This Moon may ask us to leave behind mindsets that are no longer helpful and recognise which thought patterns are stuck or stagnant. We may also look to the wider world and question the collective mindset and our place within it.
Opposite this Moon, Jupiter moves through the heart of the Leo Sun in what is known as a cazimi – a powerful moment of rebirth. This heightens the intensity of the Full Moon's energy. With Neptune, Uranus and Saturn also playing their part, this may feel like a pinch point of what has been unfolding since the beginning of this lunar cycle.
Elsewhere in the skies, Mars and Venus will be squaring each other, both in Mercurial signs. So, what does this all signal? Maybe a moment of realisation, a heart-led wisdom that rises from deep inner knowing, or something revealed by finally letting go of what has expired. There may be a push and pull as our desires or wants shift and we question if we are being true to ourselves, and if not, what changes are needed to live more authentically.

Ways to work with the Full Moon in Aquarius:
- Reflect: Because this Moon carries such potent energy, it’s important to pause and take stock of any wisdom coming through and notice what is shifting. Take time to journal or enjoy some quiet contemplation.
- Recognise the potential of change: What about change excites you? What has embracing change taught you in the past? If something feels stuck, approach any shifts that are needed with an open mind.
- Appreciate your community: How do you contribute within your groups, networks and wider community? Do these groups still feel like a good fit, or are others calling you instead? Take time to appreciate the support they offer and reflect on the contribution you make in return.
- Let go: If you are ready to let go of unhelpful thought patterns, or anything else that's preventing you from creating greater mental and emotional space, enjoy a Full Moon release ritual.
