June’s Strawberry Moon invites us to step into the second half of the year with intention. We are being called to slow down and find our focus. Take a breath - what is being illuminated in your world now?
Illuminating the astrological sign of Capricorn, the Strawberry Moon rises to help us step into the second half of the year. With the fiery Blue Moon behind us, the Strawberry Moon - its name inspired by the ripening of wild strawberries in June - brings us back to earth energy. Let’s dig a little deeper to tune in…
In this blog, we’ll unpack:
- The symbolism of the Capricorn Full Moon
- Ways to work with this Full Moon
- Journal prompts for reflection

The symbolism of the Capricorn Full Moon
Capricorn, the sign of the mythical sea-goat, takes strategy and planning to a whole new level. Determination and focus - with a side of resilience - are what this sign has for breakfast. If you need a plan or some straight talk, ask a Capricorn for their opinion and get ready for a reality check!
But this is only part of Capricornian energy. It is also within the gift of this Saturn-ruled sign to help us swim deeper into our own mystical depths and intuition. The depiction of Capricorn as the mythical seagoat signifies this - with the upper body of a goat for climbing the mountain and a fish’s tail for diving deep.

Saturn’s hard (but rewarding) edge
When a Full Moon illuminates Capricorn, we can think of the goal as holding the balance between our emotional needs and what is required of us on a practical, focused and boundaried level. The Moon is not comfortable in this sign governed by Saturn; she roams around searching for nourishment and finding little - but this does bring an opportunity to build our emotional resilience steadily, taking responsibility for our choices along the way. Whilst the terrain may feel tough, it allows us to tap into our inner wisdom, and this is a gift.
What will this Full Moon in Capricorn bring?
This earthy Moon will peak as Mercury turns retrograde in Cancer and Jupiter moves into Leo. These two shifts will make for an interesting July and will ask us to slow down (retrograde) while also taking note of where something is beginning to expand or light up (Jupiter).
Consider this Full Moon as a moment to stop and pause before these shifts assert themselves, to acknowledge your goals or intentions for the year ahead, and to ground yourself as we embark on a July dipped in big planetary conversations.
The Full Moon is our reminder that we have entered the second half of the year, and we have an opportunity to manifest any dreams that have started to take shape. The aspects around this Full Moon suggest this is not a process to be rushed, but one to be stepped into with intention and flexibility as we navigate the path ahead.

Ways to work with the Full Moon in Capricorn ~
- Slow down: What helps you to feel grounded? Try gardening, taking a walk in nature, or simply standing barefoot on the grass. Celebrate Capricorn energy by being present.
- Release: If you are ready to let go of the first half of the year and welcome in the second, make a list of what you’d like to release. Gather your trusted circle around a fire pit (or go solo) and safely burn your release lists under the light of the Moon.
- Celebrate your resilience: How have you grown from your experiences? Consider all the times you’ve had to dig deep. You may be surprised at how resilient you are.
- Take time to plan: Do you have a dream or vision for the rest of the year? Take some time to break down the practical steps you need to take to move towards it. Don’t forget to balance focus with flexibility.
- Check your boundaries: Review your personal boundaries with others. Do they feel healthy, or is the Full Moon illuminating an issue? Consider ways to adjust them if needed.
